If you find that you occasionally have RSS Feeds stuck in the status of ‘Updating’ you can perform the following to reset the status in the database – this ‘unlocks’ the feed(s) and they should beging to function normally again.

Close all Download Station windows in DSM or browsers.
Use telnet to connect to your Synology NAS device to get up a OS command line.

Access the Download Database using PostgreSQL interactive terminal

/usr/syno/pgsql/bin/psql -t -A -U admin -d download

Update the status of the feeds by setting is_updated to false:

 UPDATE rss_feed SET is_updating = 'f';

Quit the PostgreSQL interactive terminal

Reopen Download Station in DSM and go to the RSS tab and press the Update all button. They should begin updating again.

  1. Thank you! My feed is updating again. I already experienced this behavior before and only remedy was to delete the feed which resulted also in removing of all filters (20+). It was pain in the ass to readd them again. Now I don’t need to do it again. It worked like charm. Thank you again.

  2. Thanks! Works well.
