You may find that sending CTRL-ALT-DEL to UltraVNC wont work on WIndows 7/8 / Server 2008 R2/Server 2012 – the following *LOCAL* Group Policy settings will allow “services” such as VNC to activate the CTRL-ALT-DEL login process.

Local Computer | Comp Conf | Admin Templates |
Windows Components | Windows Logon Options
Set "Disable or Enable software Secure Attention Sequence" to ENABLED
and set the "...which software is allowed..." to "SERVICES"

Once this Group Policy is applied the CAD should work from UltraVNC against the W7/W2k8R2 servers

This works however you will need to determine if this setting reduces any security in your applications – you may also apply this GPO at a domain level if you have DC’s at 2008 R2 or above levels

  1. If you are looking for a remote control program easy to use and do not give you any annoyance to the configuration of ports, firewalls and more use Ammyy Admin is quite useful.
