RAS/VPN Phonebook in Win 7 & Server 2008

I always have a collection of RAS PPTP dialins on my main workstation – these allow me to connect to client networks to perform remote admin tasks.  Sometimes I would like access to this phone book as it’s quicker than creating a VPN connectoid from scratch.

While I have a roaming profile on my home network, sometimes I am not logged in under my personal account; in these instances the RAS dialer is usually empty.  It’s a simple process to copy the RAS phonebook.pbk from my main profile/workstation to the machine I am in front of —

In Windows 7 and Server 2008 the RAS phonebook is located:

C:\Users\<%PROFILENAME%>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk as a file rasphone.pbk

Sinmply copy this to the corresponding folder on the workstation you are working from, logoff and back in to refresh and you have your favorite RAS entries ready to go.
